Time for my fourth straight full album transcription project! I still have two more songs to finish for Mosaic (for reasons I'm sure a lot of you know), but screw it, Voyager's out and I want to play the new songs loll I'll finish Forever Now and Face In The Wind EVENTUALLY™.

This time, I'll be transcribing the songs in Guitar Pro 7, so hopefully the sheet music PDFs come out looking a bit better than the old GP5 sheet music. As usual, I'll also be putting up the GP file for anyone that has the program (which I highly, highly recommend). Anyway, let's get to it.

As always thank you. I’ll see if I can get around to anything to help. I’m still trying to motivate myself to finish my Voyager review.

I have Charge It Up tabbed out on bass in the other Voyager tab post. It’s drop D but I transcribed it in standard 5 string bass tuning

Of course! I could always use the help (I'm totally heist-ing the tabs in the other thread too loll)

YEAP I've been following that thread! Gonna be using the stuff everyone else has tabbed out as reference points to make sure I'm on the right track. Feel free to continue posting any more tabs you (or anyone else) makes!

Halfway done with Crossfire right now; let's see if I can finish it before I fall asleep. Prime Week's over at the warehouse and I have four days off that I'm gonna use to rest up and tab some songs out ~__~

What The?! is done. Have to work the next three days, so I'll get to the next batch of songs this weekend. Finished almost a quarter of the album the past four days, though, so that's pretty good progress!

Nice job on What The?! I actually finished a video of it that I’ll put up soon. I adjusted the positioning for my own tone that I knew wasn’t the exact spot Tim plays it, but I had all of the exact same (equivalent) notes as you.

Any other songs you haven’t gotten to yet that we can figure out to save you time?

Have ya figured out Charge It Up yet? I'm working on Dream State right now, but want to work on that one next. I know @cuscus tabbed out the bass line, but haven't seen a guitar tab for it yet. Quite a few songs in Drop D on this album, too.

I’m such an amateur. Literally just tuned my guitar to drop D for the first time ever (playing causally for like 15 years) and figured out Dream State. Super fun to play especially the verses.

What The?! looks great - I hope my bass tab was helpful, and if it was, it's an honor to be a tiny part of the now-legendary MajinStylee tab-athon. :) I did notice that 311 changed "Don't You Worry" a tiny bit from the pre-release version. The intro is different and quite a bit longer, and the outro is a few bars longer as well. If you do use my tab note that the timestamps and outro and slightly incorrect because of all that. It will be fixed eventually. :)

Eons pt. 2 Dream State is up! Probably the easiest song on guitar I'll tab out on this album. Guitar is in Drop D (as @Hewzee found out lmao) and for the bass, I tabbed it out 1/2 step down, since I hear a low Bb during the second half of the chorus ("Lost in my head....").

Also, I still can't make out if anything is played on the bass for measures 23-24 and 81-82. It sounds to me like the bass just completely drops out. Parker suggested that maybe P-nut is playing an octave or two above, but I can't hear it, as much as I want to. I hear SOMETHING going on there (I hear a percussive-type sound playing what sounds like a C#. Maybe it's a harmonic? It could be a harmonic played on the 5th fret on D string since that's a C# [when it's tuned 1/2 step down], it's octaves above, and it gives off a percussive sound. However, until I see a live video of P-nut playing it, I'll leave those measures blank for now). If anyone wants to chime in, please feel free!

Hahaha It's simple to play, but sounds sooo good. Charge It Up and Rolling Through are also in Drop D if you wanna stay in the tuning and play more songs from the album!

I saw your finished bass tab after I finished mine! I double checked with yours and was actually impressed with the accuracy of your tab; very good job! If you don't mind, I'm going to be using your Don't You Worry tab as the basis for my bass tab when I get to it (with full credit, of course). If you do end up modifying it, pls direct me to the updated tab when you're done! Mosaic's transcriptions went v smoothly thanks to the help of a lot of people on the board, so I always appreciate the help!

Next song's gonna be Better State. Knocking out the easy-ish songs out before I get to the multi-layered monstrosities that are the Feldmann songs.

Thanks, I'm impressed with the accuracy of your tabs! I'm certain it's easier to tab bass parts, but I know you're a guitar player and if you're like me, your ears are tuned to the frequency range of your instrument! Use all of my tabs you want, credit or not - your Mosaic tabs were so incredibly helpful, and my band even used your Wildfire GP files to learn the entire song. :) I am slowly getting back into tabbing Voyager on bass, so there will be more depending on the orders we go in. I can't remember if I shared my Space and Time tab here, but if I didn't, it's here: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/311/space_and_time_bass_2772037. I will let you know when I update "Don't You Worry" - I may be too late however, you're speeding right along!

Oh man, I just saw you uploaded your tabs to UG; kinda want to tab out Whiskey and Wine now haha. Also that's awesome that your band used my Wildfire tab! Reading that made my day, honestly. Please feel free to continue tabbing out the bass lines to any of the songs and posting them here or in the other thread! Every tab that people contribute goes a long way towards easing my load because transcribing songs gives me fits a lot of the time (ESPECIALLY basslines since sometimes they're really deep in the mix and I can't really hear the fine details; Uplifter is especially guilty of this).

Also, does anyone else think that Better Space is played with a 7-string? I tried tabbing it out using inverted power chords, but it sounds kinda off. Makes me think the song is played with a 7-string.

edit: actually, I hear inverted power chords being played, so it's probably played on a 6-string. I'll keep tabbing and see how it turns out.

DO IT. :D Totally underrated little jam in my opinion, and honestly I was disgusted at what was out there as far as bass tabs go for this song. :(

Didn't help with my guitarists bungling the outro left and right, but at least they knew what they should have been playing!

I think tomorrow I'm going to clean up "Don't You Worry" and then move on to "Born to Live", as the slap bass riff will be fun to figure out.

OOF that had to suck, but thanks for updating it! Have you thought about tabbing your stuff out in guitar pro? Although tbf text tabs do reach a wider audience

Also thanks a lot for your continuing hard work! I have four days off after tonight's shift, so I'll be able to get back to tabbing soon. I actually did start and am halfway done with Whiskey & Wine lol The guitar part is not as hard as I thought it'd be.

Yeah I actually do put some of it into GP7 as well, but for me while I'm cruising along, it's much faster to just do it all in the Ultimate Guitar tab form anyway than having to worry about proper rhythm and stuff in GP. I'm also comically slow with the GP interface because I just haven't used it enough for editing. I need to find some tutorials from power users because I'd prefer to do it that way. But in general, like you said, bass tabs in text format will reach more bass players, which is what counts for me. I also don't know if anyone actually releases just bass lines in GP format, and I'm certainly too much of a simpleton to figure out guitar chords to go along with my lines as well. I don't know how you do it! :)

But if you ever see my tabs and don't know exactly what's going on, I'm happy to get them in GP format for you, and I think I can also send you wav files of some of the files I use to tab where everything is slowed down and EQ'd so I can hear the bass a little bit more clearly.

I'm psyched you're doing Whiskey and Wine, one of my favorite tunes from Don't Tread on Me. Now that a reliable tab will be out there, maybe I can convince the band to do this one. :D

Haha yea I get ya re: editing in guitar pro. I've been tabbing songs out in guitar pro 5 since 2006, so I'm very, very familiar with the program; it's the reason why I don't tab out in GP7 much. At this point, I can crank out a tab in gp5 in quick order, but if I tried to make a text tab, it'd take me a loooong time. Plus, when I tab songs out, I like to transcribe every single instrument and I can't really do that with a text tab. Ultimately, it's about helping other learn songs, and the more ways there are for people to learn, the better, so keep doing what you're doing!

Also I have a request for you. I have my own method for figuring out bass lines, but I'm curious about yours. If possible, could you please upload an audio file of a song manipulated/EQd/etc to have the bass more audible the way you do it? I want to compare methods lol I'm always looking for new ways to help myself transcribe more efficiently and from what I've seen from your tabs (I'm thinking of What The?! specifically) you get pretty accurate transcriptions.

I finished Whiskey and Wine and uploaded it to ultimate-guitar, if anyone's interested. I'm thinking I might make a thread over in the musician's forum and post tabs/sheet music of all of the 311 tabs I've done in the past 10 years (I have 90 songs finished), but that'd take a while to do. We'll see. ANYWAY, I'll get back to Better Space now.
