Agree with basically all of this. Have you gotten to England yet? Gets even better once you’re there.

I’m actually kool with lack of armour. I’m more into the exploration and unlocking the viewpoints, abilities, and side missions etc.

Here’s to hoping they’ll push out an update soon to iron out the bugs more.

The deed is done, I have beat Red Dead Redemption 2! It did kind of throw me that after you beat the main story, there's a 2 part epilogue that actually goes on for a while too. But, it certainly led to an epic ending and overall I can't say I've ever played a better game, even if it's not going to be necessarily be what I consider my favorite game.

Oh definitely. One of these days I'll return to it just to go around hunting and looking for the special items and animals I didn't get.

I'm about 15 hours in now so I've done a good bit in England. Story still going strong, character models still going derpy.

The patch they released last week or whenever seems to have helped with the glitching issues.

I have also been surprised at how many high level areas they offer up early on. The previous two games have pretty much held your hand through progression and never put you in zones with enemies that could murk you with the quickness. This one seems to weave you through dangerous zones right off the bat and on the way to quest objectives. Keeps you on your toes at least.

Noticed the difficulty as well. Good stuff. Haven’t played for over a week. This painting I’m doing is taking up all of my free time after work.

A couple unrelated questions, for anyone with feedback.

    1) Does anyone play the new MK games, and if so do you know if the "Ultimate" edition of MK11 has everything they've released for it so far? And/or is there going to be more?

I just play SP, but I've loved the goofy ass MK universe since I was like 11, so I want to get all the extra stuff. But I'm totally fine with waiting for an " Even More Ultimate" edition later on. I mainly just want to spend the least amount of money to get the most, uh, kontent.

    2) Anyone play the Metro Last Light games? I've been torn on them since the first was released. They seem interesting, and I like the concept. But the first two games basically look like the subway levels in Fallout 3. Those levels get dull fast, and they're not the entire focal point of game like Metro seems to be.

Out of boredom and not being inspired to pick up a new game, I started up a new play of Borderlands 1. After trying to do a couple ledge climbs like in BL3, and remembering "oh yeah they didn't have this back then", the instinct to do it still hasn't gone away after a few days.

If that little thing stuck with me, I fear Doom 2016 is going to feel like wheelchair jousting in pudding after Eternal.

this same reason is why I'm particular about starting new franchises at the beginning. I played diablo 2 first, and could not get into diablo 1 afterwards.

Is there a game with a more satisfying level of destruction/killing than Prototype?

Ok so I finally started on Doom Eternal. I've played for a couple hours now and am of course loving it because it brings the goods as expected. I feel like I'm getting killed a LOT more than I did starting off in 2016's Doom but it's all good. I can tell I will want to go back and re-play it because I'm already leaving behind some of those areas where you see the big question marks to collect things, but I can't seem to figure how the fuck to get into them.

Yeah don't worry about dying a lot at first - Eternal is a lot harder, especially while adjusting to the more hectic vibe.

Two options that make it easier for going back to collect - after you beat a mission, it will be available in Mission Select in the hub base. So you don't need to start the game over or anything, or feel like you have to get everything while playing.

Also, when you get through like 90-95% of a mission, you'll see a message pop up "fast travel available". What's important is fast travel is only available for that mission's playthrough. If you leave the mission to play a different one or shut down the game, that fast travel goes away.

This Doom talk reminds me I need to finally beat that game. Just finished getting Platinum on 2 different titles recently and need to move on to something new

Man, I always forget about "mission select" options in games. I like that option. I'll probably just do what I want during the gameplay and move through the game however I want. I will try to get all the shit but I also don't plan on going way out of my way to do everything if it takes away from the demon bashing goodness. I'm getting better at just enjoying games as I wish and not being so crazy about 100%'ing all the time.

I just ordered the Resident Evil 3 remake that came out earlier this year for $19.99, pumped to play that after Doom.

Crash Bandicoot 4 is fun and hard as hell. I like how you have unlimited lives and one of your objectives is to not die an x amount of times on each level.

Died twice on the first level and 13 times on the second level XD. #suckstosuck

Yeah it’s surprisingly good and a faithful sequel to Warped. Still working on it. Will do more over the Christmas break.

You might find you like wandering around a bit. The frenzied pace is a LOT of fun, some of the most genuine fun I've had with a game in a long time. But I am not joking when I say how it was causing me to clench my jaw, really hard, for long periods of time. Maybe that's just my response to the action, but I wouldn't be surprised if you eventually realized a bit of intermission to find a collectible here or there was nice.

Especially when you want more and more albums to jam in your space base.
