We don't have one Rocket League player in the house? Anyone play Phantasy Star Online back in the day for Dreamcast? That was my first forray into the MMO realm and needless to say, it hooked me.
I finally broke down and bought a PS4 last week and got the TLOU. That game is absolutely incredible so far. Everything I thought it would be and then some.
I am finally playing my first new game since, uh... The Evil Within? Jeez. After 90 minutes, Doom is fully living up to the hype. The speed and quantity paranoia of the original games mixed with the overall dread of 3 (which I loved, which I also know is a divisive game). Lots of fun so far.
I'm pretty sure you're a decent amount younger than me. But Doom dropped when I was in 8th grade (I think? I just turned 13). I didn't have an computer that could do more than word processing and type and save the lyrics to "Wild Side" by Marky Mark (true story, for some reason), but a year later I was all about it, and it - and the sequel / expansions - are one of the most important aspects of my gaming life. Again, I love Doom 3, but it's a different game. It's a good game on its own, but questionable as a then-next-gen version of Doom. This game is current-gen "real" Doom.
I was in grade school when doom came out, never got into doom 3 style nearly as much (which is part of the reason I love doom16). it's like butter. it's wonderful.
As I mentioned yesterday, my 6 month and 25 month old 2.5 month year old kids make playing games precarious. I don't want to get into some long-ass campaign / mission, that I can't save. And playing fully unexplored areas when you are pressed for time is the worst. So getting to play this fun ass game, but also knowing that if I have to, I can turn it off after 30 minutes - that's a big bonus.
Damn, we need to know the USA pre-order dates. I'm hoping there isn't a cap on how many you can pre-order.
Why the fuck are people ordering these NES/SNES systems? It's like $150 and you could just buy a Wii and jailbreak it and get every game.
It's only $80. I can play any of these on emulator with a PlayStation controller, but the novelty isn't the same.
I like the Super Nintendo way more than the Nintendo. Grew up with a lot of these games and have since sold them (a lot of them for some good money). Wanting to play them on "original" hardware. Plus the HD upscaling is an attractive feature. Plugged my original SNES into my parents LED last weekend and it was almost unbearable to play. I'm a very frugal game shopper and every now and then I can justify splurging on a toy like this.
Being able to hack the SNES and load 700 games on it like the Classic NES is going to be awesome. Let’s just hope they actually make enough.
I need to just make a Raspberry Pi box that can do this shit. I get so pissed when I go to target and see the NES Classic Controllers for sale. It's the biggest fuck you in all of mankind. Well, besides Titty Cough.
