Leafs are in! I'm pumped as hell to see their 4-1 exit!

    Dux 4 lyfe

Although I'm pretty nervous about the matchup vs the Flames. Feels like a trap series

Since my Sabres have missed playoffs yet again, trying to decide who will be tolerable to win the Cup. Having the Leafs or Oilers win would be devastating to the Sabres fan base because of the McDavid lottery loss. We really do love Eichel here, he is awesome...but to lose the lottery 2 years in a row really stung, especially for a generational player like McDavid. It's obvious considering him leading the lead in points by a wide margin, and how well the Oilers have turned it around this year. For the Leafs, well they are the Sabres main rival and to have them be back in the playoffs after winning the first overall pick (Matthews) is another kick in the junk. I also want no part of the Penguins or Blackhawks winning again.

    Anyway...

Teams I'd be ok with winning the Cup...

    EAST: Caps, Jackets
WEST: Preds, Wild, Blues, Flames, Sharks

And I will be rooting for the Caps & Wild

I don't have time at the moment to construct playoff predictions or anything, but I saw a hockey thread and had to check in to represent the Wild!

I am not really into hockey. Let's go Jackets! They've been hot garbage since their inception. Hope they can get their shit together and get it done this year.

I'm a die-hard. It's all Minnesotans have. Without hockey, there is nothing but shame, despair and lakes.

    Go Caps.
Would love to see Caps/Wild final.
If the Caps don't win I hope Gabby gets one.

Not nhl, but my cousin's kid just signed to the Orlando solar bears, which is the maple leafs affiliate team. Rooting for them to make it to the Kelly cup finals with the Idaho steelheads so I can see him play

I have family in the DC/Baltimore area...so rooting for them, and it would be nice to see Ovie get a cup.

Ovi deserves the Cup. He has done so much for the league. He and Sid (ew) saved the league after all their stupid lock outs.

The Solar Bears and I go way back. Mostly because I saw their jersey randomly in like 1998 and thought, "This rules" and bought it.

More recently, Garrett Sparks is the supreme overlord of a goalie gear Facebook group I'm on. I don't super love him as a person, but it's crazy to see a guy who used to post on another goalie BB a while back transition from "really good in HS" to "I guess I'm in the NHL sometimes."

Ovi is so awesome. I like him, I like Holtby and his psychoses, and the Caps have done me no wrong. The closest I can claim is that growing up an Isles fan, that Dale Hunter shit still is "hold a grudge" worthy.

So them winning it, despite that means eliminating The Leafs (which is made easier by the fact that of course they will destroy the Leafs, no suspense), is very cool by me. But even more important is destroying that bullshit Ovi narrative.

Ovi rules. Sure, he plays offensively selfish sometimes. But do you know why? BECAUSE HE IS AMAZING ON OFFENSE. Let him wag it on D occasionally, if it means he has .05% more energy to put towards shooting. Especially with Holtby in net. He scores a ton, throws lots of legit hits and some not legit hits that are still kind of awesome. And he somehow looks like he's 55 years old for some reason. Love that guy.

Nope. I'm originally from Long Island. Grew up on the Islanders, but got into the Leafs when Potvin got called up full time in 92.
