I think it will effect it in a multitude of ways. First, I think they'll all come to the studio with a plethora of individual ideas. I suspect that Chad and Nick will each show up with tons. But P-Nut, Tim, and SA will all have their contributions to the pile of ideas giving them a lot to work with. Thematically, I suspect those ideas will be different from what we've had recently. Nick has shown an intolerance for stupid people in the past and I think, lyrically, he'll have something to say about the people who would rather wear a MAGA hat than a face mask in public during a pandemic. I'm hoping that Chad is eager to push a faster, edgier, angrier theme. I want that uptempo, heavy, nod-your head shit that gives 311 their swag. If this whole ordeal has frustrated Chad I think there's a good chance that we'll get more of that than we've had in a while. I have always gotten the vibe from the band that outside of those two, the rest of the guys kind of play it by ear and do whatever Nick and the producers suggest. But with a significantly larger pool of ideas to choose from, the producer will have a lot to play with on his own time to present to Nick and the others. For this reason I am hoping they'll bring in a second producer. Scotch can be the creative, experimental 6th band member, and they can pass sound and volume mastering to someone else. Just not Feldman. In the end, I'm hoping we'll get a 15+ track album of edgier, more aggressive music.
