Ballyhoo supposedly has 10 tracks in the can already, so they might have an album out this year.
It'd be fine if they kept that to themselves
The Bosstones rule and all, but uh... no thanks to that.
I am a fan of the guest vocalists but there's no earthly reason as to why this track should be 8 mins long.
I think it’s really cool the amount of friends they got together to make this happen and its a great song and all
but WHY would you release it as a single ?!
Thats a song you find when you buy the album and laugh to yourself about it.
not a strong lead
Not 2021 but the g love cover of April 29th 1992 is amaze
I looked it up, to see who else guested that I missed. Dicky describes it as a love letter to ska. It seems more like the "single" is meant more as a mini-project than anything promotional. Single or album track, nope. One-off tribute type thing, it sort of works.
This also reminded me that I hate Tim Armstrong guest vocals.
I like Tim, always have.
Ill tell you this though. FUCK The Interrupters and FUCK “Aimee Interrupter”. I cant stand them and hate how they were spoon-fed their career. Posers.
I've always been a fan of Tim's as well. I especially thought his solo album A Poet's Life was hugely underrated. He uses The Aggrolites as his band for that album and those guys are very good. He's got a lot of cool little singles and one-offs and stuff too. Then of course we know Rancid and the Transplants quite well. He also acted in X-Files and Twilight Zone which are 2 of my favorite shows of all time. Boner.
The Interrupters, I'm not sure what @SoulCraftGenerator is referring to about getting their career spoon fed to them because I haven't looked into it. I'll take your word for it. But I like a lot of their music and that's all I really care about. I mean yeah, Aimee pretty much sounds exactly like Tim Armstrong as does the music, so there's that.
I gotta say, I am so tired of Sublime tribute albums and shit. It's played out to death. They might as well all do a "Freebird" tribute together. I played "April 29th, 1992" a few times with my previous band, who I am aware is on this compilation, and basically hated it every time. I felt like a CHEAP WHORE.
OK Human is out. It’s...meh. Inoffensive for the most part. Nothing exciting or interesting. Just meanders and doesn’t go anywhere. The tracks more or less blend along together but not in the good way. I usually am a sucker for that. This album has no identity.
sounds like new weezer
They are Hot Trash.
And A Poet’s Life is a diamond in the rough. What an awesome record
In better news, Steven Wilson’s THE FUTURE BITES is fucking out tomorrow. One of the first albums to be done in 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos. It sounds fucking bananas.
yeah dude I have no idea why I don't see more mentions of A Poet's Life. What are your thoughts on The Aggrolites? I'm not always in the mood for them, but when I am, they really hit the spot. I once played on a Warped Tour date in Cleveland and they played on a stage basically right next to us and was able to walk over and catch most of their set, but was kind of busy loading out too. I was able to see them live again in Nashville a few years ago and they were fantastic. Weirdly though, some drunk ass dude seemed like he was knocked out cold or something odd and they had to call the ambulance in and that made for a strange vibe at the end of their set.
Love Aggro ! Jesse is a great songwriter/vocalist. If you like them, check out Reggae Workers Of The World, him and Vic from The Slackers project. They are fantastic.
@MargeInTheLargin even better
Tomato-Kun has plenty of albums coming this year!
Band-Maid (just released on the 20th and it's fucking great. I would say their best album to date)
Aina the End
Brats live albums
Probably a Band-Maiko release on April 1st. I'm sure more will be coming this year with other bands too.
Regal Lily and Bridear announced new albums!
Gonna be lots of new music for Tomato-Kun!
Seems like Broken Bells is about to announce some new shit finally. Only taken 7 years.
