Lets start taking bets on openers, or who 311 is opening for
I'm going for the long shot big bucks payday : probably a shitty white boy reggae band
I always wish for a deftness tour but its unlikely. I wouldn't mind RDGLDGRN and somebody else.. maybe a hip hop act.
Passafire would be a dream come true! So stoked that they’re gonna be on the cruise! But seriously, don’t sleep on them... they’re more of a prog-rock style with reggae influences, so a lot of parallels to 311. Unbelievable musicians! I would also love to see The Movement, Fortunate Youth, or Stick Figure (highly unlikely). Beyond that, I don’t like most of the white boy reggae stuff. If the album is harder like some indications would suggest, maybe a rock band would be fitting (see Passafire suggestion above ).
Hoping they come back to the Blue Hill Bank Pavilion in Boston again. Went last year to the Bank Of NH Pavilion and that spot was cool but in case their show falls during the week, Boston is much easier tonget to for me
I need some tour info.
glassjaw or the sound of animals fighting would be cool.
Tour info will be announced very shortly. Wouldnt be surprised if they announce it on the 7th and 8th. But probably not til 311 day and then they will be on sale that Friday
That’s awesome news if true. Here’s hoping for a Boston date. But will go where we gotta go.
It’s 311 and Dirty Heads.
How doth you know?
I can’t reveal my sources. But he was my source for the offspring opener last year, significantly prior to announcement.
(See 2018 summer tour thread)
Are they coming to Dallas?
I only got the Pittsburgh date (hometown show for me) 7/13 at key bank.
Good stuff. Def let me know if you hear about a Boston show. I dig the Dirty Heads opening
It will never happen, but a wild glassJaw sighting might make you my favorite person on the board.
Saw Gj open for deftones back in 2000 on the white pony tour. Amazing
Hot damn your cool points went up.
I always forget GJ had a minute where they were kind of known. As a Long Islander, they were one of those local bands that seemed to play a ton of small shows - the other being The Movielife - and even though they weren't big I always thought "What the hell how aren't they massive?"
They are amazing on record, and face melting live.
I'm not actually sure why @ryanwmarks suggested them as an opener, aside from "They rule." But could you imagine them opening? The crowd is all smoked out, expecting some WBR band to let them nod along. Then 100 lb Daryl comes out and screams their epidermis off.
Just noticed the leaked date that was stated for Pitt was Key Bank. Doesnt that hold like 18K? Are they going back to full size amphitheaters? Been a while
Yeah it’s a large venue. I saw 311 play there on the transistor tour. They haven’t played there since then. I have seen some shows there that get embarrassing due to lack of crowds.
