    Go Terps!

Been a pretty eventful season already...

If interim coach has them playing competitive football week 1 vs Texas, that would be a nice surprise.

Man. I am embarrassed to be an Ohio State alumnus. I didn’t read/have read to me the report until now. They could have fired Zach Smith at any time for a laundry list of reasons. Urban read that apology like a fucking robot. He didn’t mean a word of it in my opinion. I don’t know what I will decide to do when the season starts. I might skip this season depending on how long this goes on. And they set themselves up for it to go on for a long time.

At least we know what his “health reasons” were a few years back.

    His soul died.

Maryland with a big win Saturday. That was fun!

Stumbled upon free tickets and took my dad to the game. We had a blast. Intense!

Was great to come out on top.

Great job by the Terps. I know Texas has stumbled the last few years but they are a big boy program and Maryland earned that victory.

    Tech beating FSU was fantastic.

Double J is a good QB.

It was not the Labor Day vacation I was hoping for. Taggart era not getting off to a good start.

I couldn't believe they hired him TBH. And didn't understand anybody that was excited about the hire. His track record is less than impressive and he was embroiled in scandal at Oregon.

FSU could be in for a dark period...

Urban Meyer has made it clear over all these years that he values winning above all and will sweep anything under the rug as long as it helps him win. You should read up on his time at Florida.

Then when the pressure got too high at UF, he had his "health scare" and "retired" to "spend more time with his family" and promptly took a commentator job traveling with ESPN. Not tending your health or spending much time with family when you're at a different stadium/hotel every day of the week. Nobody would have faulted him for admitting the stress of coaching in the SEC then was too much and he needed a break, but instead he fabricated his BS excuse.

Then you have this stuff with him glossing over and lying about domestic violence because it involves one of his mentors' grandsons (Zach Smith is Earle Bruce's grandson). His "apologies" were all insincere and clearly forced. And he has had to make multiple follow-up statements because his shitty demeanor and total lack of sympathy for the victim/her kids generated so much more negative backlash that it forced the university's hand.

The guy is a fantastic coach, but a snake of a human being and this just further confirms it.

I agree with a ton of this but being a commentator/analyst is much easier than being a coach....you can do a ton of it from home.

His “scandals” are relatively minor in the grand scheme of college football scandals.

Willie is such a positive contrast to Jimbo, especially the last few years of his tenure. People are excited he’s a Florida guy and huge fan of the school. His excitement is infectious making it easy to turn an eye to his record of stellar recruiting with what should be better results. I was looking forward to a faster paced game as well, which we got, but with a lot of missed opportunity. I would have been fine with a loss, but that game was just shameful and 100% on the staff.

I was at FSU 2004-2008, so dark periods are not foreign to my fandom.

Great to see Scott Frost back on the NEB sideline, this time as the head coach. Hopefully he can turn the program around

All I want to know is how 16-20 at WKU, 24-25 at USF, and 7-5 at Oregon nets you the head gig at FSU, a school that supposes to be in the top tier of college football. I think ole Willie has some nekkid pictures of somebody on the FSU BOT or something.
